About
With its cobbled streets, hand carved doors, and leafy courtyards brimming with bougainvilla, San Miguel is a colonial jewel that was founded in 1542. The city was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2008. It was chosen for its well preserved Baroque Colonial architecture and its role in the Mexican War of Independence. It is arguably one of the prettiest towns in all of Mexico. Its architecture, art markets, hot springs, cultural traditions and great restaurants make it a perfect destination for a tango festival.
